Board Policies

A Board Policy is a Board decision that directly impacts the public and clarifies the Board's position regarding the application of Board rules and applicable statutes.

Advisory Rulings

An Advisory Ruling is a Board opinion issued pursuant to 5 M.R.S.A., 9001(1). A Board "may make a ruling with respect to the applicability of any statute or rule administered by that agency to... actual statement of facts." The Boards are not required to make advisory rulings when requested and are authorized to exercise their discretion in that matter.
